Today (April 2, 2025) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Assistant Professor Dr. Phadungsak Suksad, Vice President of Walailak University, welcomed the executives, staff, students and members of the public of Thapprik Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Krabi Province, totaling 44 people, led by Mr. Kobsak Taemkaew, Vice President of Thapprik Subdistrict Administrative Organization, on the occasion of their study visit to “Waste Management of Walailak University”, with Mr. Praiwan Koetthongmee, Acting Director of Smart Farm and Landscape Architecture Center, along with staff of Smart Farm Center and Corporate Communications Division, joining in welcoming them at Khao Luang Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Walailak University Cooperative Education Building.
On the same occasion, staff of Smart Farm Center met and gave a lecture on the topic of “Waste Bank Management and Composting”, and led the group to visit the waste management system at the waste sorting plant of Smart Farm and Landscape Architecture Center, which is the process of separating and creating value from various types of waste. Then, we visited the compost production at the nursery, which is the process of taking fallen leaves from various areas within the university and going through the process of grinding, mixing, and fermenting until it becomes high-quality compost for use within the university and selling to interested agencies, helping to save the budget for purchasing organic fertilizer and generating income for the university.
Before returning, the group supported the products of the Smart Farm Center, including rose apples, ruby apples, and salak, totaling more than 100 kilograms.
Mr. Kobsak Taemkaew, Deputy Mayor of Thapprik Subdistrict Administrative Organization, as the head of the study tour group, thanked Walailak University for providing knowledge, exchanging experiences openly, and providing a warm welcome. The Subdistrict Administrative Organization will use what they learned from the study tour as a model for waste management of Thapprik Subdistrict Administrative Organization going forward.
